Love in its Fruition!
“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” John 14:15
The fundamental and simple ways of showing love to others are protecting them, giving valuables, showing care, being kind, and offering pleasant situations. With these, we feel, and we could say people love us. It is essential that we love everyone, and they also must love us as much as they love themselves. However, obedience is the key to enjoy full love.
Jesus is not just using this verse to teach about His love, but He was trying to make us escape eternal destruction, showing us the key to abide and have a mutual relationship with the Father. Anyone who fails to keep the Lord’s commandment does not love Him and does not abide. Rejecting His commandments implies directly that we reject His love.
John 15:10 says, “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.”
However, some people see His commandment as very complicated or impossible to keep, which is not so. God has given us grace, and we also have the help of the Holy Spirit to guide and caution us. Two important things should be considered for salvation; communing with Christ in love, faith, and staying in Christ. The second is the help of the Holy Spirit, to pray His will, and to read His word with understanding.
It is wise and much profitable to abide in the love of God, ensure you do all in your strength, and never to leave His presence. Anyone who fails to keep the Lord’s commandment directly rejects Christ. Remember, Christ is all we need. Give your all to have Him. Jesus said, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make Our home with him.” John 14:23
Prayer:
1. Lord, install an unending desire to love and obey your commandments in me.
2. Holy Spirit, breath on me to know more of Jesus as I am that I am.
3. Lord, grant me the courage to walk in obedience to your commands and faith in you in Jesus’ name. Amen
