Mercy Embrace the Whole, Be Merciful! 3
Mercy embraces us all and makes us whole again. Being merciful and forgiving is not just a process of the word but an action of deed that comes from the heart. The mercy you show to others is what makes the world less cold and brings glory to God. The society that shows mercy towards each other is the one that loves peace and orderliness.
“For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.” James 3:16-18.
When mercy is given, evil practice and hatred are reduced, and the spirit of peace is restored. Mercy given to marriage will reduce the chances of divorce and separation. Mercy given to children will reduce the chance of violence. Mercy given to friends will reduce the chances of loneliness and depression. And mercy shown to yourself will help you enjoy the benefit of God’s grace.
“A kind man benefits himself, but a cruel man brings trouble on himself.” Proverbs 11:17
When our heart is filled with mercy, it will be like a fountain of life to those who seek to live in peace. Jesus Christ has shown us mercy by giving us the gift of forgiveness. He gave his life for our sins, and we have been saved through him. In Romans 5:8 said that God had shown us kindness, that “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Prayer:
1. Thank you, God, for your mercy. Thank you, Jesus Christ, for forgiveness and grace.
2. Oh! Lord, give me a heart of compassion to help me to be kind and loving towards others.
3. Thank you, Jesus Christ, for my salvation. I am so grateful that your grace has saved me.
