Mixed Multitude!
“A mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very many cattle.” Exodus 12:38
Solomon, the wisest man on earth, once said in Ecclesiastes 3 that to everything there is a season. Especially when he said, “A time to cast away stones.” But this principle, the children of Israel failed to keep; hence they keep falling into sins, and they were kept under the bondage of their enemy.
What the children of Israelite supposed to cast away, they embraced it when they were delivered from the captives of their enemy, the ‘Egyptian.’ The Bible said, “a mixed multitude went with them,” as said from the anchor scriptures. This mixture could be some foreign slaves who decided to join the exodus to freedom. Unfortunately, some of these people eventually became a snare to the Israelite.
Likewise, every child of God needs to know the implication of yoking themselves with unbelievers or anything unclean. To avoid being a slave to the devil, or oppressed by the enemy which God has given us victory over. We must learn to separate ourselves from the sin that the world is bringing us and not let it take control of our lives.
2 Corinthians 6:14 says, “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?”
The answer is none! Therefore, take precautions for your dreams, guard your heart, stand as a priest in your house. Keep your eyes on the Lord without any mixture of sin in your heart. As Apostle Paul said in Colossians 3:5, “Therefore, put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”
Prayer:
1. Lord, I thank you for the salvation by faith in Jesus Christ.
2. Anywhere I have allowed a mixed multitude to ruin my breakthrough, oh Lord separates them from me.
3. In the name of Jesus, I cut off every force influencing and pulling me back from growing spiritually now.
