“Therefore, you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.” Galatians 4:7
According to Timothy Keller, he said “The Gospel is good news not advised. Advice is what we should do. The news is the report of what was done for us.” Many believers still live in fear, and sinful nature that controls them like slaves, but forgot that God has made available the divine grace and mercy through His Son. The father sent His son to us many years ago to redeem and save us. Jesus Christ accepted the offer because of you and I. That is why the Bible said, “therefore, you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.” Galatians 4:7.
As you continue your daily activities in this season, I want you to remember the good news that established the covenant between you and God as a Child and heirs of God. However, if you are an unbeliever, I want you to know that God made sacrifices on your behalf many years ago to change your name from fear to faith; from ignorance to knowledge. God has done something that seems impossible through our Lord Jesus Christ the Savior of the world. God gave us His only begotten son to break off the chain of slavery. That whosoever believes in him will not be controlled by the pressure of this world, but have the advantage of the JOY that flows like a river that the true Christian enjoys under the gospel that is filled with grace and mercy.
God knows who you are, and nobody can fix whatever goes wrong in your life unless He intervenes through His Son. He knows how great you are! He knows what you can accomplish for the Kingdom! Moreover, He knows the seed of potential in you. That is why God intervenes with the offer of calling you his Child. Through this assurance the portion of your inheritance has increased and “the Spirit himself testifies with your spirit that you are a child of God. Roman 8:16
