No More Standing Still – March into the New!
“The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward. Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground.” Exodus 14:15-16
As the dawn of March unfolds, imagine standing at the edge of the ocean, the waves gently lapping at your feet. Just as the Israelites found themselves at the Red Sea, faced with an expanse seemingly insurmountable, you too may feel moments where you hesitate, paralyzed by uncertainty. Remember, it’s often in these very moments that God calls us to take a bold step into the unknown. You can find your own “Red Sea” moment this month, with God guiding your steps.
In this season, reflect on the areas of your life where you feel ‘blocked seas.’ Perhaps it’s a stagnant career, relationships that have lost vibrancy, or unfulfilled dreams. Just like the Israelites who didn’t linger on the shores but instead stepped into the miraculous, you too can identify one bold action to pursue. Remember, “What you chase shapes you more than what you escaped; run toward the sunrise, not the shadow.” So, this month, dare to let go of past limitations and visualize stepping forward.
Philippians 3:13-14 says, “Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
The metaphor of a rocket serves well here: it doesn’t soar until the powerful combination of fuel and fire ignites. Your faith acts as that igniter. Martin Luther King Jr. famously said, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” Each step you take in faith represents an ignition that propels you towards your aspirations.
Brethren, God is calling you to “Rise and March!” Just as the Israelites were instructed in Exodus 14:15-16 to move forward, so too are you encouraged to embrace new beginnings. Remember, God is doing a new thing through pathways that did not exist before. Amen. Isaiah 43:19 says, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
Prayer for the Day!
Heavenly Father, grant us the courage to put one foot in the water, trusting in Your divine guidance. Just as You parted the seas for Your people, we believe You will clear the path for us as we boldly move forward. Help us to embrace the new and step into the future You have designed for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
