“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.” 1 Peter 1:6

To refine gold, it must pass through a very hot fire, making it very pure as the fire would have burned every impurity. Therefore, only pure gold will come out at the end. One of the properties of gold that makes it stand out is its durability. Gold will stand from one generation to the other without rusting or losing its luster, but the refining process is very hard. This is how many successful people were made.

Many successful people we know now and hear of their names worldwide have gone through their refining stages. Some have failed so many times that they would have given up, but they keep pushing. Some came from broken homes, poverty-stricken homes, and communities, yet they decide not to give up. Unfortunately, abuse and trauma are some of the issues some successful people faced while growing up.

Hebrews 12:11 says, “No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields a harvest of righteousness and peace to those who have been trained by it.”

What is the common factor present in all of these people? They never gave up. They chose to be overcomers. Their backgrounds fueled their motivation for success, and they did not stop, but they changed their names for good. That is how an overcomer behaves. What you are passing through are trials meant to shape you into making the right decisions for your future.

Therefore, I encourage you to rejoice in trials and tests of faith because the dawn is just after the darkest moment of the night. Jesus has already overcome the world so that you can overcome it too. Therefore, let your present situation fuel your hunger for success and carry God along. Job 23:10 says, “Yet He knows the way I have taken; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold.”

1. I will not give up; I will not be overwhelmed by the present situation. The joy of the Lord is my strength.
2. Psalm 34:19; whatever you are going through- that is not suitable for your living, God will surely deliver you and bring you out of it in Jesus’ name. Amen.
