Planted by Rivers of Water!
“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalm 1:3
As long as the earth will be, principles will remain. Day and night will never seize to substitute, likewise the dry and rainy season. Meanwhile, during these two periods, a tree or any other plant needs water as an essential substance for growth and production. But a tree or plant by the riverside does not experience the harshness of the weather and dryness of the ground when the rainy period ceases. This is because the river supplies water, moisture, and coolness the plant needs.
What the scripture is emphasizing here is that you can be like the tree at the riverside. As a believer, there is no such experience of dryness and harshness with you even when others experience that. This is what differentiates a believer from others as seasons and times change because God has made substantial provision for everyone who abides in His word and follows His commandments.
Isaac dwelt in Gerar as instructed by the Lord, and he lived as if there was no famine. The Lord prospered him greatly, just like a tree planted by the riverside. While there was a severe famine in Egypt, God planted His children, the family of Israel, just like the tree planted by the river of water, and they knew not famine because the supply is abundant from above.
You are also in the plan of God, He has made provision for all your need, and you can be like the riverside tree that blossoms at all time. Regardless of seasonal changes, economic recession, business meltdown, marriage disaster, and all sorts of harshness and dryness, your source of supply for all your needs will not be cut off in Jesus’ name. Your leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever you doeth shall prosper. Psalm 92:12 says, “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.”
Prayer:
1. Lord, help me to be a believer rooted in the right position to produce action and attitude that honor God.
2. Holy Spirit, keep me pure and holy and let Jesus be seen in me every day! Hell is not my home in Jesus name.
