Pursue Consistency in the Spirit to Experience His Power!
“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:8
The key to success is consistency. If you want to make your dreams come true, the first thing you have to do is wake up. Wake up from your sleeping repugnancy dream because Consistency breeds habits, and habits breed success. If you want to succeed in life, you must be determined to be consistent as well as intelligent. In other words, stay focused and be wise. Remember nothing is impossible if you put your mind into it and your trust in God. That’s why Hebrew 10:23 says, Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”
The only way to get better at something is by consistently practicing it. The success of our spiritual work is dependent on consistency. No amount of lag in the prayers we pray and the results should ever make us faint or have a broken spirit. Reading the bible and praying daily and at all-time could be challenging to do consistently as a human, but we must grow into this maturity that we will never get tired of doing them. Sometimes we don’t feel like doing them, but our spirituality shouldn’t have anything to do with feelings. To some people, it is a challenge; to some people, it is a painful thing to do, and to others, they call it spiritual exercise when they see other people worshiping or praying.
Roman 8:6 says, “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
You will be filled with joy and peace when you possessed spiritual-minded, but lost when you are possessed by carnal desire. (You will not be lost in Jesus’ name.) Through carnal desire, the devil will take advantage of this open hole to speak to your mind and make you feel condemned. Please pay attention to this, and the more you stay consistent, the more you gain stability and strength in the spirit. “We have lived long enough to experience the hollowness of earth and the rottenness of all carnal promises.”-Charles Surgeon
Reading the Word, praying, and other spiritual activities are not the challenge, as these are easy tasks we can accomplish, but the real deal is our continuity and consistency in doing the necessary things. If we want to move closer to God and have a stable life as we live for God, we have to be consistent with God in our service and worship. Hold on to Jesus. Job 17:9 says, “The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.”
Prayer:
1. Thank you, Lord, for your steadfast love and faithfulness.
2. I pray that you continue to keep me consistence in your presence and help me to stay faithful in my faith.
3. Lord, help me serve you with all my heart, soul, strength, and courage. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
