Raising God’s Fearing Children! Part Two
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” 3 John 1:4
One of the assets to have in this world is children, either biological or spiritual children, and to make them become the greatest asset, we have to raise them in the way of the Lord. Raising spiritually minded children is a great asset. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and he will not depart from it when he is old.” The psalmist agrees in Psalm 127:3, “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” God has given parents the responsibility to raise their children in a way that honors Him.
Children are a gift from God and should be nurtured to allow them to grow into responsible adults who understand the way of God. This means that parents must be diligent in their parenting skills and provide a foundation of faith for their children to build upon. Children are not only a blessing from God, but they are also a great asset to society. They represent the future and have the potential to make positive contributions to your life as a parent, the world, and God’s kingdom. Our responsibility as God’s chosen parents is to help them reach this potential by raising them with strong values and teaching them how to think for themselves.
Genesis 18:19 says, “For I have chosen him so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”
It can be difficult to encourage spiritual growth in our children as a parent. After all, we want them to enjoy their childhood and explore all that life offers. However, growing spiritually is important for their future. There are many things to consider when training our children in the Lord. We must be diligent in providing an environment where they can learn about God’s love and forgiveness. We must also teach them how to apply biblical principles to every area of their lives. Finally, as parents, we must pray for our children daily and model a dedicated life dedicated to Christ.
Psalm 115:14 says, “May the Lord give you increase, you and your children!” This is a great prayer to those who do things to glorify God. Children are a great blessing from the Lord, and it is important to share your own beliefs and values with them. Teaching them about God’s love and His plan for their lives will help them grow up to be faithful believers themselves. It is also important to set a good example for them to follow and discipline them in a loving way when they disobey. Raising godly children can be challenging at times, but it is definitely worth it! Hebrews 12:11 says, “For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those trained by it.”
Prayer:
1. May the Lord grant you strength, peace, and comfort in your hearts, so that you may not be afraid to raise your children in the way of the Lord.
2. Psalm 115:15 “May you be blessed by the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth in Jesus’ name. Amen.
