“Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.” Deuteronomy 8:2
“Ink your victories today and when doubt returns, read them aloud because faith remembers what fear forgets.” So, remember to remain. In the grand tapestry of life, each thread of our past weaves a beautiful story that reminds us of who we are. Just as the tree rings record the seasons it has weathered, our memories serve as vital nutrients for our present faith. When we pause to reflect on past breakthroughs, we find an endless reservoir of strength to nurture our spirit and guide our steps.
The Old Testament tells us about Samuel, who set up an Ebenezer stone to commemorate God’s faithfulness in past victories. This simple monument served as a reminder for the Israelites of the powerful moments when they experienced divine intervention. Like Samuel’s stone, our own memories can anchor us, urging us to remain steadfast in our beliefs and trust in the goodness that has sustained us.
Psalm 77:11-12 says, “I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.”
Remember, “Yesterday’s miracles make today’s courage measurable.” That’s why Psalm 77:11-12 invited us to remember the mighty works of the Lord. The act of recalling these moments transforms our history into energizing fuel for the present. Every time we write down a testimony, it becomes water for tomorrow’s drought, refreshing our spirits during times when we need it most. In this way, our memories are more than mere recollections; they are stepping stones leading us to deeper faith.
Deuteronomy 8:2 compels us to remember the journey, reminding us that our past is not just history — it’s a tool for growth. When we document our past victories, we solidify our trust in God’s unwavering presence. As we look back, we gain the strength to remain firmly rooted in faith, even when uncertainty looms ahead. Amen. Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Amen.
