Right Intention!
“Therefore, whoever knows the right thing to do, yet fails to do it, is guilty of sin.” James 4:17
Right intention or purpose in the spirits is what keeps our physical in the right direction. God is not just interested in what you’ve done or what you are doing; your intentions and motives are more relevant to Him. Many prayers had been turned down because they lack the right intentions.
Our desire and intensity of our want are not just the major prerequisites for an answered prayer; God looks deeply inside of you to check what your divine purpose for your request. Proverbs 16:2 says, “All the ways of a man are clean in his sight, but the LORD weighs the motives.” Intentions are not what you can manipulate or tune into during praying hours alone; it forms your will and lifestyle.
The intention is the key to living a life that is meaningful and fulfilling. It’s the reason why we have so many desires and aspirations in life. It determines the direction and outcomes of our lives. Daniel Wallace said, “A storyteller makes up things to help other people; a liar makes up things to help himself.”
In everything, ensure you develop the right intention. Whenever you desire to please God, or you channeled your works towards His kingdom, then you have the right motive. Anything that doesn’t possess a glimpse of God’s light or word must be checked. Irrespective of the challenges of this world, issues, prejudices, feelings, or environmental crises, endeavor to have the right intentions at all time. Do not be moved by what others do, sidestep the deceptive idea of the devil in your life.
It might be challenging to do this naturally because the flesh is capable of initiating wrong thoughts. Every stronghold of the mind must be pulled down with the word of God (2 Corinthians 10:3-4). Intentions are shaped and renewed by the word of God. Then, feed and meditate on the word of God at all time, and avoid every act that might lead you into wrong and sinful thought.
Be reminded of your heavenly goals; let God’s will be the structure on which your intentions are built. This will not just rain blessings on you, but it will give you peace. When you have a good intention, it will bring peace and great joy. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
Prayer:
1. Thank God for today’s devotion, blessing, and praise God for his goodness in all things.
2. Lord, let your Word teach me, may it guide me into your will. I refuse to be carried away by the lust of this world.
3. In the name of Jesus, I rebuke every evil thought or negative word spoken against my family and me now.
4. I Cast down every evil imagination, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God in my life, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5)
