Set Your Mind Free! 2
“Forget the former things; pay no attention to things of old.” Isaiah 43:18.
A cluttered mind is worse than a blind eye that cannot see. The world is full of people who are lost and have no hope, not because they are blind but because their mind is cluttered with the past or the things that do not matter. When you are stuck in your past negative affairs, it is easy to lose sight of what God has done for you or about the new doors that will open for you.
The following verse of today’s devotion (“Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19) is what people like to preach and quote most of the time. However, they ignore the verse that says: “Forget the former things; pay no attention to things of old.” This means God is about to do new things, but you must be willing to let go of the things of the past for the sake of seeing the effect of the new.
Of course, God knows that you are going through challenges and struggles in your life. He knows that you have been through so much and yet still has a word of encouragement for you to let go of those things that weigh you down and keep you from moving forward. It’s not easy to let go of these things, but if you can find a way to let go of them, then you will be able to see the effect of new things that God will bring into your life. Isaiah 43:19.
God is good and gracious; He doesn’t want us to get stuck in our troubles or feel like we’re not good enough. He wants us to know that we are worthy of his love and favor in all areas of our lives. However, for us to see the effect of favor, we have to stop going back and forth to unforgiveness, the wrong, anger, the bitterness of failure in relationships, and the endless list of other sins. Because It’s time to start thinking and living a life of grace and mercy in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
Prayer:
What is that thing that troubles your mind that you have been so anxious about? I want you to pray about it now in Jesus’ name. Amen
