Standing Out in a Sea of Conformity! Part Seven
“The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” Psalm 92:12
Welcome to today’s daily devotional. The past six days’ devotionals have been about the importance of standing out in a sea of conformity from different stories. I am sure you have learned about the importance of integrity, self-respect, honesty, and trustworthiness from these devotionals. These are essential characteristics to have if you want to succeed in life. Jude 1:2 says, “Mercy, peace, and love, be multiplied unto you in Jesus name. Amen.
One of the most important things you can do to develop these characteristics is reading your Bible and praying every day. “Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it, you may grow up into salvation.” (1 Peter 2:2). And as you spend time with God, He will help you grow in these areas. Another thing you can do is find good role models who exhibit these qualities and look up to them—especially learning from Christ Jesus, our Lord, and savior. Amen.
Matthew 11:29 Jesus said, “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Jesus Christ has offered himself as a role model; therefore, learn from him and let his behavior become all of you. Remember, Colossians 2:6-7 says, “as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” Of course, standing out in a sea of conformity can be difficult, but it is indispensable. When we stand out, we show that we are different and unique because Christ lives in us.
I encourage you to keep working on developing these traits because they will help you live a successful and meaningful life. Remember, You are unique, and you should not be afraid to stand out from the crowd. Be a partaker of divine nature and do what is right even when everyone else is doing it wrong. Amen. 2 Peter 1:8 says, “For if you possess these qualities and continue to grow in them, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Prayer:
1. Oh Lord, help me increase in wisdom and favor so that I may stand out from the crowd.
2. Please help me know what is right and wrong in Jesus’ name. Amen.
3. 2 Peter 1:2 “Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.”
