Strongholds!
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” 2 Corinthians 10:5
One day, a young man was sharing how God delivered Him from the stronghold of masturbation. It was surprising to hear his effort, and he stopped this perilous act. Because, before gaining his freedom, the young man said every time he taught it’s over, he would find himself in it again. He couldn’t freely express himself to God; he couldn’t pray; life remained stagnant both spiritually and mentally.
Amazingly, he was delivered through the Word of God. He said, “The words that I heard from the Pastor on that day were not just mere words, but they were life-changing Word that filled my mind with power,” he said. “Anytime I thought of doing it, I will remember the Word of God, and that word will be my salvation. I am saved.”
Each of our activities and deeds proceeds from our thoughts. Thoughts are compelling and capable of making us better or bitter. The process of sin starts from the mind, and such thinking gradually develops into a stronghold. However, no matter how strong this might be, the good news is that you can cast them down with the word of God.
Our mind is a battlefield where we must fight against evil imagination, and It is either we lose or win, but I encourage you to win. Determine to transform your thoughts with the word of God. Taking this decision might not be as easy as the story above, but with God, all things are possible. You need to be committed and meditate on the word of God and then determine to ignore all sinful imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against God. Jeremiah 23:29 says, “Is not My word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that smashes a rock?”
Prayer:
1. Lord, help me to meditate on your word of all time. I receive the grace to win all battles of the mind.
2. I tear down all the walls of evil imagination, covering my eyes not to see good things about my life, business, spouse, family, and ministry now in Jesus’ name.
