“Your kingdom comes, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Mathew 6:10.
Surrendering your will is far beyond prayer, and it is not withdrawing from the process when you allow God to get involved. The disciple of Christ understood the importance of letting go of their will in all areas of life. Hill song in one of their albums titled “ I surrender, I want to know you more,” said surrender is a thing of the soul to align ourselves to God and to know his will.
Jesus’ kingdom has now come to dwell in our midst. Jesus taught his disciples to do when they are to be living as Christ-followers after his departure. Until you surrender your will to God in prayer, in your business, in your career, in your academics, and so on. You won’t be able to access the true riches of the kingdom as it is written in the book of Mathew 6:33.
Surrendering your will has to do with you taking up your cross, denying yourself of worldly things, and following him without looking back (Luke 9:23). Surrendering your will to God is the most beautiful thing that can happen to you. It’s a way of letting go of all the burdens that have been holding you back in complete compliance to God’s purpose and His timing.
What is it you are seeking from God that you have not been able to get? Is it job employment, finance, or joy? Have you tried surrendering your will to God and be attentive to what he is saying to you concerning that which you want from him? Do you want quick answers to your prayers that will last for only a short period OR appointed answers to your prayers that will last you and the generations unborn?
PRAYER
1. Father, thank you for this devotion and for opening my eyes to the truth.
2. Father, as from today, I surrender my will to you because I want to know you more. Pray for me in Jesus’ name. Amen!
