Taking Charge!
“And behold, the LORD stood above it and said, “I am the LORD, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie I will give to you and your offspring.” Genesis 28:13
There is a territory for everyone to possess, a point of God’s blessing. However, it isn’t everyone that is opened to walk in the pace of their territory because they never come to understand their possession. The territory that I’m talking about is not necessarily a land, a place, or a geographical location; it is a state of awareness, a realm, and possession of God’s cornucopia blessing.
Jacob was in a Land that God has predestined to be his possession, but he was ignorant of this great opportunity, and as such, he couldn’t understand his values, and he settled to forfeiting his rights until God opened him up in Bethel. Many blessings are presently available for every of God’s own, but until we can come into the light of such hidden possession, it will be impossible to possess it.
1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
Nothing defines a human than God. Nothing gives us an identity like God does. Until you understand that the world is too blind and ignorant to define you, you will end up with a misplaced identity (may that not be your portion in Jesus’ name). God identified with Jacob in Bethel; he reminded him of the bond He shared with him from generation past and generation to come, which was a turnaround for him. That was the point Jacob realized God was with him, and he did not know.
Jacob’s identity was defined, and knowledge was given. He then understood his possessions and place in the kingdom. He was transformed by the understanding of his place (territory). You, too, get ready for God’s transformation. Our life will be more meaningful if we can enter into our territory in Christ. Exodus 19:5 says, “Now if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, you will be My treasured possession out of all the nations-for the whole earth is Mine.”
Prayer:
1. Lord, open the eyes of my understanding so that I can see what you have in stock for me.
2. Psalm 118:27: May the light of God shine upon your business, career, family, health, marital life, and every other area of your life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
