“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

In the heart of a little boy’s curiosity lies a profound truth. When he asked his mother how to make God happy in prayer, her simple yet powerful answer was “Thank You.” Just like a child reaching for his mother’s hand, expressing gratitude is a way to connect deeply with the divine. It’s like planting seeds of joy that flourish and bloom through our words of thanks.

in Luke 17, we see powerful examples of gratitude, such as the story of the one leper who returned to thank Jesus after being healed (Luke 17:15-19). His grateful heart stood out amidst the many who received healing. This act of thankfulness opened the door to deeper connection and blessings. Just like the leper, when we choose gratitude, we invite abundant joy into our lives.

Psalm 100:4 says, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and bless his name.”

Creating a gratitude jar is a delightful practice to cultivate this spirit. Start by jotting down five praises that resonate in your heart — perhaps a loving family, good health, or a beautiful sunset. With each note added, it’s as if you are drawing water from a well that deepens with every thankful thought. Each moment of gratitude we collect enriches our spirit and fills our lives with light.

As Paul reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In everything give thanks,” and Psalm 100:4 encourages us to “enter His gates with thanksgiving.” Gratitude transforms our perspective and reminds us that what we have is already enough. Aesop wisely noted, “Gratitude turns what we have into enough.” So, let us tune our hearts to a constant state of thanksgiving. Amen. Psalm 136:1 says, “Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good. His loving devotion endures forever.” Amen.

Prayer for the Day!

Dear Lord, help us to embrace an attitude of thankfulness in all that we do. May our hearts overflow with gratitude as we recognize Your blessings each day. May our days be filled with the refreshing rain of gratitude, and may we embody the spirit of thanks as our password to joy. In Jesus’ name.  Amen.”
