The Butcher and Unjust Weight!

The Butcher and Unjust Weight!

” Dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD, but an accurate weight is His delight.” Proverbs 11:1.

Honesty is the best standard to trade in life. It is the essential quality that we should all strive for if we want God to be involved in our matter. I know we talk about faith most of the time as things that please God, but we forgot that honesty is what makes God get involved.

I read a story of a woman who walked into a grocery store just before closing time and asks, “Do you still have chicken?” The butcher opens his fridge, takes out his only chicken left, and puts it on the weighing scale. It weighs 4lbs. The woman looks at the chicken and the scale and asks, “Do you have one that’s a bit bigger than this one?” He says, yes! With a smile.

The butcher puts the chicken back into the fridge and then takes it out again, but this time when he puts it on the scale, he craftily keeps his thumb on the scale pan. The scale now shows 5lbs. “Do you want this chicken? The butcher asked, pointing to a plate. “That’s wonderful,” says the woman. “I’ll take both of them, please!” (Laugh out Loud). The Butcher is still in the cold room looking for the second one till this moment. (Anonymous)

Dishonest is deceitful, unjust, and cruel; it is an abomination to God and humankind. Chinese Proverb says, “Whenever there is profit to be made, then think of honesty.” We should avoid dishonesty in our daily transactions. “Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity, and honor.” Proverbs 21:21

Prayer:
1. Thank God for all your blessings.
2. O Lord, help me to keep my heart pure and strong in Jesus name.
3. Holy Ghost saturates my heart with honesty.
