The Creator and His Building!
“For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.” Hebrews 3:4
Every building cannot build itself, and anyone who wants to build a house must be sufficiently up to the task of building the house. They must know the cost and the benefits of building it. They must also know the purpose and value of building it. The master-builder understands the importance of building something that will be useful.
That’s why humans are referred to as buildings scripturally, even though we build houses to serve our needs (1 Cor 3:9; 1 Peter 2:5). The universal church is built on the foundation of the sonship of Jesus. We are created in Christ Jesus unto all good works, leading us to the anchor of this devotion. But, beloved, we cannot all function in the same office though it is the same spirit that works in all. We can’t all be molded in the same pattern. That is why the creator is molding you to become whom He wants you to be.
1 Peter 2:5 says, “You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
The master-builder of the house always does what is right to make sure that the building is perfectly constructed. So, when the building is under construction and needs hammering, He will hammer it to perfection. If the building foundation is faulty and needs to be demolished for a decent structure, the master-builder will do his best to repair it. And if the building needs remodeling and renovation to make sure that it is in good condition, he will work with all the necessary tools and equipment to make it unique.
Beloved of God, this is where our trusting in the Lord becomes essential. The more we trust him by trusting in his perfect work, the better things will happen. Christ came into the world to rebuild and restore from the effect of sin and death. He came and re-established the foundation of our life, church, and family by restoring us to the place of faith and hope. Ephesians 2:21 says, “In Christ, the whole building is fitted together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord.
Prayer
1. Thank you, Lord, for making me a living stone prepared unto all good works
2. Pray concerning whatever agony or pain your building is going through, that the father will have his way, and your building shall be pleasant for all eyes to behold in Jesus’ name. Amen!
