The Effective Prayer! 4
Welcome to today’s daily devotional of effective prayer! In the effective prayer! 3 We encourage that effective prayer required faith, and faith involves love, while love involves forgiveness of sin. This is an essential part of the process for effective prayer because it is the first step toward healing our hearts and minds. It is also the step towards purification for the soul.
However, when you stand in the presence of God praying, your heart must be free of junk related to any sinful nature, which also includes unforgiveness and anger towards others. It does not matter how vibrant, calm or relaxed you are in prayer, but if you cannot forgive yourself and others in your heart, then you cannot stand in the presence of God and pray. Because standing in the presence of God requires a cleansing heart, hand, and Spirit.
Psalm 24:3-5 said, “Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior.” This is the way of life that we are called to live if we want to observe effective prayer.
You must be careful what you allow in your heart before you pray to get the blessings that you need. The little stain of unforgiveness, bitterness, anger, and resentment in your heart can become a tool in the hand of Satan to remind you of your uncleanness while you stand praying before God as he did to Joshua. Zechariah 3:1 says, Then I saw Joshua the High Priest standing in the presence of the angel of the LORD, with Satan standing at his right to accuse him.”
Prayer:
1. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for the comfort of the Spirit and the strength through my soul.
2. Lord endowed me with the power to overcome all unrighteousness and sin that stand against my prayer in Jesus’ name.
