The Greater Glory!
“Indeed, what was once glorious has no glory now in comparison to the glory that surpasses it. For if what was fading away came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which endures!” 2 Corinthians 3:10-11
The pursuit of all beautiful things today is good, but it cannot be compared to the glory that is yet to come. Everything that humankind strives for comes with a level of splendor attached, and an individual is embedded with divine glory. The glory of each one of us makes every individual unique and special. However, the glory that everyone also attached or connected gives more references and importance than any other aspect of life.
There is a different type of glory, and they are: Fading or Ephemeral glory- this type of glory is like that type of flower that seems blossom and beautiful for a moment but fades away when it’s season bloomsome is gone. It reveals itself quick to fade away in due time. It is not only about flowers but also about our own lives and what we experience in life. This type of glory comes in many forms and can be seen in various ways, such as from birth to death.
1 Peter 5:10 says, “In his kindness, God called you to share in his eternal glory through Christ Jesus. So, after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.”
Another type of glory is what we called Camouflage glory. This type of glory is the opposite of unfading glory, but yet everyone in the world is searching for it because they all like it fakeness as a cover-up. It is an illumination of what is real, but it is not valid. This kind of glory comes in many forms and can be seen differently, but most importantly, it is presented to people through the devil and his angels. The devil has no glory, but he can fake it by making it look real and then using it to make money or gain power or whatever you want to call it. However, the result is dangerous and destructive to lives.
However, we called the unfading glory – this is the essential thing in life that we should strive to attain and achieve because it is the only thing last eternal. This type of glory is called the father glory that never fades away but to eternity. As believers, it is essential to living absolutely unto God’s glory. If we must be glorified in the end, we have to recognize the manufacturer of true Glory from now. Do not be ignorant, striving for the glory that will fade away but for the glory which will endure and for greater glory. 2 Corinthians 4:17 says, “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!
Prayer:
- Lord, let Your glory overshadow my life here on earth and in the world to come.
- Psalm 30:5: “… Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning,” in Jesus’ name. Amen
