The Greatest is Love!
Though I speak with tongues of men and of angels but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 1 Corinthians 13:1
The gospel becomes unique as a treasure because of the love of John 3:16. Reconciliation made possible because of John 3:16. Eye lit open because of John 3:16. The gospel is more than just a message. It is an expression of love invitation to God’s people that need amazing grace to be saved and become the best in the world. “Once you truly believe you’re worthy of love, you will never settle for anyone’s second best treatment.” – Charles J. Orlando
We read in the scripture that God is love, and if God is love, then every one of us is delegated to love. Evidently and unfortunately, we do not practice this genuine love in our contemporary world, not even among ‘Christians.’ We have diluted the true meaning of this love such that we have a different meaning to it. If God is one, and God is love, then love should be one.
As a father or mother, the fact that our children go on vacation or spend some time away from us doesn’t mean that the love we have for them will reduce. Even when we don’t see them, we still love them. The family is one of the places you can only hear and experience a glimpse of love, though some are not always the true meaning of love. To be loved is something that is beyond words. However, to love and be loved, that’s everything else, because it makes life worth living.
Beyond the family, probably among neighbors, relatives, and even in the church, our kind responses are dependent on previous actions of people to us. That is not the love of God. His love is unconditional; scripture says He loves us even when we are a sinner (paraphrased) (Romans 5:8).
Love is a sufficient reason to accept and forgive because it is in God’s written word, and it is a commandment. Irrespective of the fact that it is a command from God, acting towards the written word of God is a blessing onto us. I want us to take a conscious step to change the world and direct people to the light through these greatest commandments of love. Jesus said, love God, love your neighbors as much as you love yourself (Mark 12:30-31).
Prayer:
1. Thank you, Jesus, for all the blessings you have given me.
2. Help me to respond to your love and mercy in my heart to those who are hurting in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
3. Receive the grace that will help you live a life of true love in Jesus name.
