The Hunger!
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” Matthew 5:6
Hunger makes your desire for a meal becomes strong. It creates a currency appetite for want, and until we want more, we can not get more. At the point of hunger, the throat is highly effective, and in anticipation to swallow more than the taste buds on the tongue. There is French saying that, ‘A good meal ought, to begin with, hunger.’ At first, food is the only means of satisfaction, and it is further said that almost every meal taste good when one is starving.
Just like there is an appetite for food, also every human can develop an appetite for God. We have to move our desires away from unrighteousness and look into God-loving ways. If there is no appetite or hunger for the things of God in our life, our prayer, worship, and services will become empty as a way of wasting time. We must be hungry to have an encounter with God to know him better.
For believers, being hungry for God is a necessity, once we stop desiring, and then we began to lose our life. God is all we have. He is the best thing that can ever happen to us. The more we get hungry for God and His presence, the more we will desire to have Him. He longs to commune and show us deep things that we do not know of, but we have to desire Him and move closer to Him.
Seek every means you can to find God, and when you do, you will see Him. If you are hungry for God, then you must be willing to go out and search for him. “Like newborn babies, that crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.”1 Peter 2:2
Prayer:
1. I appreciate you for being God. I am thankful for all that you have done.
2. Lord, create an everlasting hunger in me, so that I may desire you endlessly in Jesus name.
3. The Lord is my shepherd, and provider, I will not go hungry and thirst for anything.
