The Misplaced Priority!
“Why do you spend money for what is not bread? And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.” Isaiah 55:2
Misplace priority can take place in many people’s lives and situations. We all tend to underestimate or overestimate our importance. In our daily activities, relationships, family, work, and even personal life. It is important to remember that we are not just limited by our circumstances but also by our priorities.
If we think about it, God’s priorities are more than just money. That is why many hardworking men and women have nothing to show off because of misplaced priority. Likewise, in the church, we should always be careful with our priorities because you might be active in the church, and yet God is saying, “I don’t know you, depart from me.” Because sometimes, God’s thoughts and His ways are not like yours.
According to today’s verse, our priority in this race should be the bread and the things that can satisfy us. The bread is the word of God (John 6:35); the word of God is the breath of God (2 Timothy 3:16); the breath of God holds the spirit and life of God (Genesis 2:7 John 6:63). The spirit and life of God in you make you become like God (John 10:35) with authority to rule and dominate.
Therefore, invest your time and money (God’s resources) to get that bread (the word of God) and labor for that which will satisfy your soul. The word of God says hearken diligently unto me for you to eat that which is good. Set the priority right now while the Lord is still near Isaiah 55:6 says, “Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.”
Prayer:
1. Father give me a listening heart to set my priorities rightly in Jesus’ name.
2. I canceled every plan of the devil to make me do things that are not pleasing to God in Jesus’ name.
