The Need for Mercy!
“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” James 2:10
There are many times I am always bothered and troubled with this question that “If Jesus should appear in His glory today, where will I be? Have you thought about such a thing? How would you feel if He appeared in His glory today? Now, it is time to concentrate on what the Spirit says to us.
As a follower of Christ, we need to live our life as Apostle Paul “teaches us to say “NO” to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this generation” Titus 2:12.
This I have to hold onto as a believer of Christ, because of the risk attached to waiting for the lord’s return. Imagine when you keep the whole law but stumble in one point, will become guilty of all. It sounds unfair and unjust, but that is why we need to be persistent and faithful to our labor in the kingdom of God.
In any position, you find yourself, be it as a student, businessman and so on, don’t forget you are there to make your light shine so that the world may see your good work and glorify your Father who is in heaven. If you are faithful to that which God has committed to your trust by not showing impartiality, by not bearing false witness against your neighbor, then the mercy of God is to present you blameless (Jude 24).
We need mercy because of these little sins we do not count as anything that has the potentials to jeopardize our glorious destiny. We need the mercy of God so that our name will not be erased from the book of life. The need for mercy to “Catch the foxes for us, The little foxes that are ruining the vineyards, While our vineyards are in blossom.” songs of Solomon 2:15.
Prayer:
1. Lord, have mercy upon me for my involvement that ruins my life while becoming blossom in Jesus’ name.
2. I pray that when he shall appear to receive us into his bosom, we shall not be ashamed for him, but with boldness, we shall embrace him in Jesus’ name. Amen
