The Provider.
“And he cried unto the Lord, and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them.” Exodus 15:25.
I remember the story of the children of Israelite. After traveling three days in the desert without water, the Israelite came to Marah, which means “bitter.” As thirsty as they had to be after three days in the desert, the water was too bitter to drink. Moses cried out to the Lord to provide water for His people. The Lord directed Moses to a tree that was then cast into the waters, and turn it to sweet drinking water.
This week, God will introduce himself to you as Jehovah Jireh, the creator of heaven and earth, and turn every bitterness of your life into good news. In Jesus’ name. Amen
But the water was not the only thing that was bitter in that desert. The people’s hearts were bitter. They were murmuring against Moses and God. It took God to sweeten their hearts as He sweetened the water. Both were miracles of God’s provision. God demonstrated that He is indeed our Provider. He is the source of all things, and he gives liberally to everyone. In as much as he knows what is good for us per time, He would surely give to His children; you need to ask and trust Him. He provides.
With Jehovah Jireh on your side, the better life is sure and guarantee of you. The Lord is your Shepherd; you will not lack any good thing; neither will you be deprived of the blessing of an open heaven. Therefore, call on Jesus with a pure and clean heart. Hold on to Jesus, the Shepherd of your soul. Psalm 34:10 says, “The young lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.”
Prayer:
1. Oh! I thank you for you have been the Shepherd of my life.
2. O God, I am so grateful for your steadfast love that has kept me from sin.
3. Lord, my Provider, work in my life as necessary to produce sweetness in my heart and soul.
