The Shepherd and Bishop of Souls!
“For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and overseer of your souls.” 1 peter 2:25.
Following Christ is not a destination but a journey. In the New Testament, believers of the gospel are regarded as sheep due to sheep’s representation of the divine nature. However, if not led or direct, the sheep will go astray and may never be found. Previously before the shepherd and bishop of our soul reconciled us to himself, we were living in darkness (Ephesians 5:8). However, after the grace of God found us through Jesus Christ, his son, we were returned to him through many sacrifices paid by our shepherd.
Only those who understand the grace of God manifested on the cross will be moved to respond to the one that can lead them to salvation and watch over their souls. Listening to the voice of your shepherd and bishop of your souls will equip you for every good work to do his will. The worship and meditations of your heart would be acceptable in his sight (Hebrews 13:20-21). Remember, through your worship and obedience to God’s words; you will receive the Spirit of God, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep.
Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
When you make it as a covenant to do God’s will and follow Christ, whom God has chosen as the Shepherd and Bishop of souls, you will enjoy the blood of the everlasting covenant. This covenant is not just for your salvation but will help you accomplish all God has planned for your life. It is a powerful promise ensuring your success and bringing glory to our Heavenly Father. Remember, Philippians 2:13 says, “For it is God who works in you to will and act on behalf of His good purpose.” Amen.
Therefore, I encourage you not to go astray in this life but to follow the path of righteousness and value what your shepherd has sacrificed for you. He has given his life for you so you might have eternal life. Therefore, do not let the wages of sin overtake you, but rather follow Jesus and enjoy the blood of the covenant which God has made ready for you and commanded you to keep (Hebrews 9:20). Amen. Genesis 17:9 Says, “God also said to Abraham, “You must keep my covenant, you and your descendants in the generations after you.”
Prayer:
1. Oh Lord, thank you for your innumerable sacrifice to save my soul through your birth, the cross, death, and Resurrection.
2. Father, I receive the grace to abide with you forever and to put myself under your word after the order of the sheep’s life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
I have been receiving real blessings from your daily Biblical Devotion! God bless every thing you do in heavenly and earthly blessings!
Amen. Thank you so much for that testimony
