Total Submission!

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7.

Total submission means putting God’s desires above your own. It means seeking God first in all things and situation through prayer, petition, and Thanksgiving. Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” God will give you what you did not ask, including riches and honor in Jesus name. Amen.

However, the best time you can say people are submissive to God is when they are in the church or going through some difficult time. As children in the house, they are submissive to their parent. They give strict but straightforward instruction; they fear them and abide by the rules. When they get to school, their teachers own their lives at that point and follow the teaching instruction.

Being submissive to God requires that you take yourself away from every other thing and then give your life to God totally. We have to resist the devil and submit to God daily; leaving the wrong things for the good. Doing the best things and staying holy is not an option for Christians. The day we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior should mark the day, we recognize that we have a mighty Master to obey.

However, this fact is not opened and revealed to us at that point. Though, as we journey through the Christian ways and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, we will know more about the God we are serving. The more we know God, the more we become humble and submissive.

God is ready to make us pure, He is ready to open us to divine directions in life, but He won’t do all this if we can’t take our eyes away from the world and submit totally to Him. Until you build your mind against sin, the devil won’t stop sinking you in sin. 1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

Prayer:
1. Thank Jesus for his grace and mercy in your life and for giving you the strength to face the challenges of life.
2. Father, reduce me so that I may increase in you. Help me to abstain from sin Lord.
3. Holy Ghost fire, destroy every trap and temptation set up to destroy me, my family and relationship now in Jesus name. Amen.
