Turn Your Lemons into Lemonade! Part Two
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivered him out of them all.” Psalm 34:19
When David and his men came to Ziklag on the third day, the Amalekites raided the city and burned it down. They also found that their wives and children had been kidnapped. David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep. However, David was distressed because the men were talking about stoning him. After all, each one was bitter in spirit because of their sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God (1 Samuel 30:3-4, 6).
Even though David’s life was filled with many difficult struggles, he was still able to find strength in the midst of them. He turned his lemons into lemonade by asking God for help and directions. We can learn a lot from David about how to deal with difficult situations. When faced with trials and difficulties, we should not give up. Instead, we should keep fighting, just like David did. We should also encourage ourselves in the word of God, who is always with us, no matter what we are going through. Remember. Lemons are tart and acidic. But, when life hands them to you, make lemonade with Jesus. He will add sweetness to your life with His love and hope.
In Romans 8:28, Apostle Paul says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
No matter what life throws your way, know that God is working for your good. Your lemonade will be sweet and refreshing when you add Jesus to the mix. In Psalm 30:5, David says, “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” When you’re feeling down, remember that God’s favor lasts a lifetime. His love is constant, and He will never leave you. So rejoice in the morning, knowing that your joy will come. Life can be tough. But when you add Jesus to the mix, your lemonade will be sweet and refreshing. Trust in Him, and know He is always working for your good.
God’s Word is a powerful tool, and it is up to us to put it into practice. When faced with trials and hard times, we can turn our lemons into lemonade by trusting in God’s plan for our lives and drawing closer to Him. We can also find blessings amid our hardships by helping others who are going through tough times. Remember that we can always trust in God’s love and grace no matter what life throws our way. Amen. 2 Corinthians 4:17 says, “For our light and momentary affliction is producing an eternal glory far beyond comparison.” Amen.
Prayer:
1. Thank you, Jesus, for coming into life and turning everything around for your good.
2. Psalm 10:17-18; Oh Lord, you hear the desire of your children; I asked you to strengthen their heart and incline your ear to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, so that anyone born of a woman who is of the earth may strike terror on them no more in Jesus name. Amen.
