Unity of Spirit!

“I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” John 17:23

The unity of spirit is an urgent matter the believers need to focus on more than ever. In these days, the prophecies and admonition of the fathers of faith shouldn’t be overlooked. We are to take conscious effort to ensure that we are doing what God required of us.

Jesus, during the time He spent on earth, He saw the different gathering of men as they make plans for evil against Him and the group of men with Him who likewise sought good for Him. None of these moved Him because He knew the heart of men. That isn’t the bone to crack this morning but rather the gathering of men.

Today, we gather as believers, but the mark of the actual gathering is missing among many of the meetings. Most Christians have turned the church to social gatherings instead of fellowship and worship. All this kind of gathering brings a worldly perspective that pollutes the mind of the believer.

Unity will be impossible when people have a different mindset of gathering. Don’t be the reason for disunity in the body but instead, be a catalyst for unity in the soul that brings victory when you join hand with the people of God. We can only win the battle if we unite our hearts and minds. The unity of spirit is “For perfecting the saints, the work of the ministry, and edifying body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:12-16

Prayer:
1. Oh Lord, give us the spirit of unity we need to bring about unity in the body of Christ.
2. Lord, unite my spirit to know you and love you more in Jesus’ name.
