Victory in Praise! 2

Victory in Praise! 2

“And at midnight, Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.” Acts 16:25

Praise established our faith. When you are rooted and built up in praise, you will not lose sight of what God has done for you and what he will do. Praise is not an admonition but a command. It doesn’t matter whether things are going right or wrong, so long we have breath in us, we owe God praises.

Many believers still believe that the Christian race is all rosy and always pleasant as the earth is the Lord’s, the fullness thereof. But the fact remains that the trial of our faith worketh patience. It is how we praise God in the face of tribulations and disappointment that determines if we are genuine children of God. Everybody can be your friend when all is well, but not all of them will stay when things become bad.

1 Corinthians 15:57 says, “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

God needs a friend that will say, like Job, “though he slays me, yet will I trust in Him: but I will maintain my ways before Him.” Paul and Silas were savants of God who diligently served Him against all odds. Despite their commitment to God’s work, Paul and Silas jailed for the sake of the gospel. They were never angry with God; instead, they sang and praised God for His glorious and wondrous work, and God showed up for them.

No matter what life brings for us, let’s learn to praise God; He may tarry but will indeed show up for us. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

Prayer:
Father, teach me how to praise you at all time in Jesus Amen
