Victory over Satan! 2
“Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” Colossians 2:15
Our previous lesson has exposed us to how Satan operates, but today we shall consider Christ’s mighty victory over this terrible enemy, Satan. We have an assurance of victory through Christ’s victory. Do you believe that? Remember, Proverbs 21:31 said, “The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.”
The Lord Jesus Christ came into the world to destroy the works of the devil. Christ redeemed you through the power of the cross. Humankind was held captive by sin, but the Lord Jesus paid for our sins on the cross and has no rights over us anymore. Anyone who choose Jesus as their Lord is set free from the power of Satan. The power of darkness was defeated when Jesus ascended back into heaven as he triumphed the overall power of darkness. He made a public show of them. What an amazing incident this must have been in the spirit world as the Lord Jesus ascended His throne blameless and victorious.
2 Corinthians 2:14 says, “But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.”
The Father exalted Christ, and He was given the place of the greatest honor and power; that is a great victory! Christ’s victory is our victory as Christians. We were made one body with him through His death, His burial, and His resurrection. For this reason, we are seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above all powers of darkness. We share his throne; therefore, we share His authority.
That is why we can speak and perform in His name. There’s a big difference between power and authority. Though Satan and his cohorts have power, through Christ, we have authority. We have overcome Satan by the blood of the lamb and by the words of our testimony. Every power of darkness shall be held captive and stripped of its powers in Jesus’ name. Because Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Prayer
1. Father Lord, wake me up from my slumber and strengthen me to take my place of authority in you in Jesus’ name.
2. 1 Corinthians 15:55 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” I am an overcomer in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Thank you people very much for the post, I, have richly been blessed, may God grant you people more grace
