Wash My Feet!
He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?” John 13:6
The break out of Coronavirus and other infections has enlightened people about the importance of hygiene and cleanliness habits. Same it is with our spirit. As we go out and come back daily, we face different people and many other things that pollute our minds.
Jesus understands what we face every day because He was tempted in all ways as we are tempted. He understands the feelings of our infirmities and how they affect us. He doesn’t want us to keep walking around with the stains and pollution that wants to settle within us.
Hence, He employed the feet washing principle to help and keep us from the unsettled pollution so that we can remain pure in Him. He also used the feet washing technique to cleanse our hearts and spirit. That’s why He encouraged us to come before His presence daily, to be purified from all kinds of sin and walk in the righteousness that God has given us.
You should not be afraid or ashamed to ask Jesus to clean your heart, evil thoughts, or those attempting to become a veil over your ethical perceptions and reasoning. Jesus Christ will do it for you. He will bring out the best in you and make sure that your whole body is ready as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.
“I urge you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.” Romans 12:1
Prayer:
1. I receive grace to present myself every time to you, O Lord; I won’t hide from your presence.
2. Oh, Jesus!, purify my heart from all iniquities, and cleanse my soul from all unrighteousness.
3. I wash and cleanse my life from all evil pollution with the blood of Jesus.
