What Makes God Smile? 2
“Thus, did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.” Genesis 6:22
Our conformity to the nature of Christ is also seen in our willingness to obey God. No matter the heaviness of the instruction, those who have experienced the transformational power of God will accept the responsibility to obey his commands and follow them even when they are not easy or comfortable. God doesn’t just smile on people; He smiles on those who obey Him.
If God called you out of your comfort zone, do it! It’s okay to be uncomfortable for a while. But don’t let it stop you from doing something new that will make you fulfill the plan God has for you. I am sure there are many more examples of this kind of obedience, but Noah was my favorites today: Noah obeyed God’s instructions and obeyed the Lord with all his heart even when there was no sign of rain. He was faithful to God and obeyed him. He didn’t listen to the naysayer and give up, but instead, he trusted in the Lord for his word.
Has God called you to do something you never thought possible? If So, go for it; it is an opportunity of a lifetime to do something that is beyond your imagination and showcase the greater God in you. God will give you the right tools to fulfill his plans. It is not about how much money you have or how many cars you drive, but rather the whole-hearted of obedience to God and His Word in you. Obedience is the only way to live a life of faith that pleases God in all things.
Our intimacy and intense outpouring of God’s presence upon our lives all start from absolute obedience. Be it through prayer, fasting, meditation, or any services you render to God; you must not pick and choose between the reasonable and the unreasonable option offered by God. In other words, don’t make a partial commitment to God in tithes, attend service as a believer, and yet couldn’t forgive the person who hurt you. Don’t worship God out of scope; obedience is better than sacrifice. Proverbs 21:3 says, “To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.”
Prayer:
1. Help me, Lord, to be totally obedient to your words.
2. Oh Lord, cleanse me from every wrongdoing and show me your mercy in Jesus’ name. Amen.
