WHICH VOICE DO YOU LISTEN TO! 2
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1.
The role of the holy spirit as stated in which voice do you listen to, in part one is to convict us and reprove the world of sin and then to comfort us that in our rebellion attitude against God, in our corrupt nature, in our weak position, in our effort to do the right thing, Christ is ready to justify us and give us a helping hand.
In as much, you are walking after the spirit and not after the flesh. You are not condemned either by your past sins committed before you accepted Christ or your present sins. Nevertheless, you need to put yourself under check at all times to know if you are still in right standing with God.
It is essential for you to live after the spirit and not after the flesh by taking away the desires of the flesh Romans 8:13 says, “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.” It is essential so that you won’t mix up the conviction of the holy spirit with the condemnation of the spirit of evil.
Know that they both operate from the inner man, but you can discern from your heart which is from God Romans 6:16; “Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death or of obedience leading to righteousness?”
PRAYER
As from today, I yield myself to the word of God. Therefore I receive the spirit of humility to come boldly to the throne of grace in Jesus’ name.
