Whoever Refreshes Others…!
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7
God has given us life; He released his only beloved son for us because of our sin that we may have everlasting life. God expects us to be like him by being a cheerful giver and giving out what we have to Him and our neighbors. Many pick excuses and say they have little and do not bring out of/from that small. But the truth about giving is that it’s not about money, our possessions, or materialistic item. It’s about the heart and soul of the giver.
We are not just to give our money; a very precious gift is time. As much as we want to get involved in every other activity, God desires that we give our time as a sigh of offering our life unto Him. We can then put every other thing we want to give Him into time. Our attitude to others can be a means of blessing. Sometimes, it only demands that we give a piece of advice to help others. That is why Romans 12:8 says,
“If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.”
Financially, we should be a cheerful giver to God and our neighbors. God loves the cheerful giver, and by natural principles, they are blessed souls. Ensure you pay your offering and tithe. Give to every evangelical work, they need it most. Give to charity where you don’t expect anything in return for it. Be generous with your time, talents, and gifts to support the youth, elders of the community, and those who are less fortunate than you. Sharing Magnificent Life’s daily Devotion in the service of God is one way to show love towards others.
Do not be a giver because you expect a return or impress people; our motive and intent are the core area of interest to God. Let your motive for giving be centered on kingdom purpose. It does not matter what you offer or any form it takes; your heart should be involved. Remember, we cannot serve God if we don’t have a heart of giving for His kingdom purpose because it’s the giving that usher us into the presence of the great. Proverbs 18:16 says, “A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.”
Prayer:
1. I receive the power and will to give freely to my neighbor, community, and God.
2. Holy Spirit, make my motives right with God in giving, in Jesus’ name.
3. The Lord is my shepherd, and He shall lead you out of trouble, lack, debt, burden, pain, and poverty and into the land of abundance in Jesus’s name. Amen
