Will You Be Blamed?
“But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.” 1 king 21:25
One thing that is very clear in the bible is that Evil communication corrupts good manners; that’s why we need to be more mindful of the friends we keep. The story of a rebellious and evil king called Ahab, who knows the truth, but was misled to do the wrong thing. The question is, will he be blamed for yielding to the wrong advice, or will he be set free from the repercussions of sin?
This takes us back to Adam and Eve, she took the fruit first, and she offered it to Adam, also which he did eat. What was God’s response to it? (Genesis 3:12) Even when Adam explained that “The woman whom thou gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.” God still judged them all for the sin.
We were having established the fact that Jezebel stirred up Ahab to sin from the anchor scripture. Though he humbled himself, he was also punished for the sins. As Christians, we must be careful who we listen that lead us to sin or not to allow others to sin. For instance, A seller of hard drugs is also committing the same sin as the person consuming it.
A person feeding information to robbers is also the same as the person carrying out the operation. You won’t have any excuse to free yourself when the judgment time comes. But the good news is that you have a mediator called Jesus to stand in the gap for you. Therefore, let him come into your heart to abide forever in your heart.
