“You shall Possess it.
“You are to take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess.” Numbers 33:53
God has promised the Israelites land so that they can dwell in it and worship Him there. The Promised Land is on the other side of the river Jordan waiting to be possessed. The land already belonged to the Israelites as far as God was concerned. Taking possession of that land meant that they would fight for it as there are many battles to be won to own the land fully. But God has given them the go-ahead to take possession of the land because He has already given them the land.
At times in life, there are several things to overcome and giants to conquer to take what belongs to you. God promises to give you the right to take ownership of your land. You have to believe that God has given you what you asked from him to receive it. It takes faith to receive from God. He has given you the resources and the strength needed to fulfill your destiny and be what he has planned for you to be.
Joshua 1:11 says, “Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days, ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God had given you to possess it.”
You have to work for what he has given you. Imagine you ask for cake and someone gave you flour, sugar, butter, eggs, an oven and everything you need to bake the cake. This person is willing to teach you how to bake the cake every step of the way, and all you need will be to bake the cake and eat to your satisfaction. But you are there with everything you need and still telling the person to get you just a piece of cake.
God sometimes does not give us exactly what we need but will want us to work for it to have that thing in abundance and be a blessing to others. Imagine asking for a piece of cake when you can bake as much as you need and even host a party with the cake. Learn to put in the work and enjoy the process. Gen 2:15 says, “The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.”
Prayer:
1. God, help me to see what you have for me and work with me.
2. May the Lord bless the work you do and give you the strength to continue the harvest in Jesus’ mighty name.
