Your Calling is By Grace!
“Brethren, consider the time of your calling: Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were powerful; not many were of noble birth.” 1 Corinthians 1:26
From today’s verse, we can assume that there is a discussion going on before it gets to that verse. The discussion is on the word of God preached to believers and non-believers. What made the word of God profitable to a human’s soul is when the individual believes the word, and it is mixed with faith, as said by Apostle Paul in (Hebrews 4:2).
So, no matter how eloquent a preacher is, if the hearer does not understand and accept it in other to practice it, it means it is in vain. There is a saying that for information to be complete, there must be the giver and also a receiver. If the receiver does not understand the information, then it becomes useless.
Now to those of us that heard the word and truly believed it, it is a great privilege because, by that, we can live victoriously and righteously in this present world. Because some are called, and some are not; Some yielded to the word of God, and some remain adamant. But to you, it is a blessing to know that you are loved and loved by God in Christ Jesus.
Beloved, you are sacrificing your time to read through this devotion is because you are being called, if not you will scroll past it. Therefore, be diligent to shew thyself an approved workman unto God. 2 timothy 1:9 says, “He has saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works, but by His purpose and by the grace He granted us in Christ Jesus before time began.”
Prayer:
1. Thank him for he has called you to be his own
2. May the Lord grant you the grace to hold onto your calling until the end and to be among the glorified in Jesus’ name. Amen!
