Your Calling is by Grace!

Your Calling is By Grace!

“Brethren, consider the time of your calling: Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were powerful; not many were of noble birth.” 1 Corinthians 1:26.

From today’s verse, we can assume that there is a discussion going on before it gets to that verse. The discussion is on the word of God preached to believers and non-believers. What makes the word of God profitable to a human’s soul is when the individual believes the word, and it is mixed with faith. As said by Apostle Paul in Hebrews 4:2 that “For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.”

This is where the grace of God comes into play. Because no matter how eloquent a preacher is, if the hearer does not understand and accept it in other to practice it, it means it is in vain. There is a saying that for information to be complete, there must be a giver and also a receiver. If the receiver does not understand the information, then it becomes useless. So, I pray may we not work in vain in Jesus’ name. Amen. Because grace is like a seasoning that brings out or intensifies the natural flavor of the food without changing it. It is like a spice that makes you feel good.

2 Timothy 1:9 says, “For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.”

Now to those of us that heard the word and truly believed it, it is a great privilege because, by that, we can live victoriously and righteously in this present world. Because some are called, and some are not; Some yielded to the word of God, and some remain adamant. But to you, it is a blessing to know that you are loved and loved by God in Christ Jesus.

Beloved, you are sacrificing your time to read through this devotion is because you are being called; if not, you will scroll past it. Therefore, be diligent and be a good worker, the one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. 2 Peter 1:10 says, “So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away.”

Prayer:
1. Thank him for God has called you to be his own
2. May the Lord grant you the grace to hold onto your calling until the end and to be among the glorified in Jesus’ name. Amen!
