Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38
In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it’s easy to become consumed by the commercial aspects. However, this time of year provides a unique opportunity to reflect on what truly matters: sharing love and kindness with those around us. Just like one small candle can light an entire room, even your smallest act of kindness can illuminate someone’s day. As believers in Christ, we are called to be the light in the world (Matthew 5:14-16), spreading joy wherever we go.
Imagine a farmer with only a handful of seeds yet planted them with faith, believing in their potential to grow into bountiful crops. Similarly, you do not need wealth or extravagance to make an impact; your sincere smile or kind words can be more powerful than you realize. These acts may seem small but hold immense significance because they carry the essence of God’s love, much like Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fishes to feed thousands (John 6:1-14).
Acts 20:35 says, “In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Consider Mother Teresa’s timeless wisdom: “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” Let it remind us that genuine kindness doesn’t require extraordinary means—just extraordinary heart. Encourage others by holding open doors or offering a helping hand to someone in need. During this holiday season, let your actions speak volumes about your faith.
By embracing and activating acts of kindness during this festive season, believers can showcase God’s grace through simple gestures of warmth and generosity. Every kind deed affirms our faith and brings glory to God while fostering community and compassion among His children. Let every act you perform be rooted in selfless love; after all, you’re sharing gifts and pieces of Christ’s heart with everyone you encounter. Amen. 1 John 3:18 says, “Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” Amen.
Prayer for the Day!
Oh Lord, in this holiday season, let my actions speak volumes about your faith, hope, and love. May every gesture of kindness reflect the compassion you have shown us. Guide my words so they may bring comfort and joy to those around me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
