All of My Help!
“My help comes from the LORD, which made heaven and the earth.” Psalm 121:2
Sometimes we try to look into the future to see what it holds for us. As we gaze with great curiosity, we will discover no safe or secure way out there to actualize our childhood dreams. After graduating from school, imagine tried so hard to get a job, all to no avail. Thought of setting up a business, but no start-up capital. Here you are, alone in the middle of this dark and scary ocean.
The question you can ask yourself is, “who can rescue me now; who will plead my course?” Now “who do you look unto for help – from where does your help come?” The major problem most Christian have today is pride. We are so full of ourselves; we depend on and trust so much in our power, degree, knowledge, and intellect. People now believe so much in themselves and careless about faith in God.
Many people see faith as synonymous with laziness or lack of seriousness, forgetting God Himself had to exercise faith to frame the world. Faith is the key that unlocks the impossible. Another problem is that we depend so much on people around us for help, and in the end, we are disappointed to see that those we thought we could count on cannot help us.
Believers, you must know that it is biblically wrong to trust in humanity because whosoever forgets God and trust in humankind has put him/her self under a disappointment, according to the book of Jeremiah 17:5. Therefore, it is crucial to note that there is a limit to how far our degree, strength, and connections can go; only God is unlimited. Relying on Him is the best decision we can ever make. Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.”
Prayer:
Lord, as I look unto you, come and help me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
