Are You Waiting on God?
“Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.” James 5:11
Are you waiting on God? Are you waiting for Him to do something for you? Waiting can be a difficult thing. We often want what we want, and we want it now. As a result, we can become impatient and frustrated when things don’t happen as we think they should. But what if we learned to wait on God? What if we waited with anticipation and expectation, knowing He is always working in our lives? Yes, while you are waiting, God might seem harsh to you; he might give you strict instructions to follow.
While you are waiting, you might lose something you value so much, which might be something that hinders God’s intervention in your life (2 Peter 3:9). Therefore, please don’t be upset about it, no matter what happens, but stay humble. God may choose to answer your prayer quickly. However, there may be a time when you need to wait for Him to answer you graciously. Therefore, do not be offended by it. Instead, keep praying and asking God for help or guidance in the meantime.
1 Corinthians 1:9 says, “God, who has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ, our Lord, is faithful.”
God knows your name, your heart, and the best time to answer your prayer. Remember, a continental dish is made with plans and preparation with customers who are willing to wait patiently for a healthy meal. But fast-food restaurants don’t have that luxury. Instead, they serve their customers with a sense of urgency and anticipation to satisfy their hunger, but not much about their health. Likewise, while you are waiting, remember that God has a grand plan for you.
Delay is not a denial of God’s will to answer your prayers. Instead, it is moment by moment of preparation for what lies ahead. Your integrity, patience, faith, and obedience to God will be tested because they are essential to abundant blessings in this life. There is no room for doubt or fear when you wait for God to answer your prayers. God knows exactly where you are going and how long it will take to get there; therefore, be patient and hold on to Jesus. Patience is a virtue. Waiting on God is worth the wait. Amen. Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold resolutely to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” Amen.
