Are You Waiting on God? Part Two
“Wait for the Lord and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land; you will look on when the wicked are cut off.” Psalm 37:34
God is not a man that he should lie, nor the son of man that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Many people are always waiting for something from God. They are always waiting for their prayers to be answered and for God to do something for them. However, as you are waiting, do you fully trust God during your waiting period? Because Waiting is never easy. We often want what we want when we want it and don’t like waiting around for anything. This is especially true when it comes to waiting on God.
We may be tempted to doubt or question Him during our wait, but Psalm 37:7 says, “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.” In other words, we should trust in God. We should believe that he will do what is best for us. We should believe that he will answer our prayers. Not only that, but we should believe that he is always working for our benefit. When we trust in God, we will not be disappointed. We will not be waiting on something that never comes. We will not be left feeling empty and alone. Instead, we will be filled with the peace and love of God.
Micah 7:7 says, “As for me, I look to the LORD for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me.”
Trusting God during our waiting period is important because He is in control. He knows what we need and when we need it, and His timing is always perfect. Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways my,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. So believe that the God who saved you hears your cries. Remember that God is always there for you. However, you must be confident that He will guide you through all of life’s trials and tribulations.
One of the most important things we can do as believers are trust in the Lord. To know that He hears our cries and is working on our behalf. Waiting on God is the key to an official breakthrough. God tells us through the prophet Micah that He delights in mercy. We can come to Him with our brokenness and our need for Him to intervene on our behalf. He hears us, and He is faithful. Psalm 4:3 says, “Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for Himself; the LORD hears when I call to Him.”
Prayer:
Psalm 9:13; Lord, have mercy on me and my household; My God, let my waiting on you end in great testimony and joy in Jesus’ name. Amen.
