“And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.” Luke 18:1
As believers, we are encouraged to pray without ceasing and to present our requests before the Lord. However, we must always remember that prayer is not a monologue but a dialogue with God. He desires to hear from us, and it’s His delight when we confidently come before Him. In Matthew 7:24-25, Jesus spoke about building our lives on a solid foundation. He likened it to building our house on the rock instead of sand. We can apply this same principle to our prayer life by building our confidence in the foundation of Christ.
However, when we have faith in God and believe He hears us when we pray, we are assured that our requests will be granted. Our faith switches off doubt and fills us with hope. When we pray to God with a pure heart and strong faith, He listens attentively. The Bible tells us that if anyone asks for anything according to His will, it will be given to them. This means that if we ask for something good and pleasing in the sight of God, He is more than willing to grant it to us. It’s important to note that having unwavering faith doesn’t mean everything will go exactly as planned or desired, but it does mean trusting that whatever happens is ultimately for our good.
1 Kings 3:12 says, “Behold, I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart so that there has never been nor will ever be another like you.”
It is similar to how I will tell my son, please switch on the lightbulb, and once he puts his hand to the switch to turn the lever, I know the light will come on. There is no doubt, no guesswork; if he has difficulty with it, I know the problem is not with the switch; he has just not turned the lever. The same way is the believer’s confidence when we pray. See how John puts it, ‘we know that he hears us; we know we have the petition we desired of him.’ That is His will! His will is to hear us. In the same way, an earthly father delights in the presence of his children and meets their needs; our Father delights in us.
Therefore, when we trust God’s promises and character, we can come boldly before Him with our requests. We can confidently ask for healing, provision, guidance, strength, or anything else we need because we know God is faithful and hears our prayers. When we surrender everything to Him through prayer, peace floods our hearts, knowing He controls everything. So, it’s time to experience much more heavenly bliss than before. Take and enjoy all that the Father offers in the place of prayer. I call you blessed. Amen. John 15:7 says, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” Amen.
Prayer:
1. Oh Lord, help me to believe when I pray and not think about what I’m doing wrong.
2. My God, I know you are with me, and I can trust you in every situation in Jesus’ name. Amen.
