Behold, All Things Become New! Part Two
“Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.” Psalm 147:5
When you enter Christ, three things change about you. First, your relationship with God changes. You are now a child of God, and He is your Father. Second, your identity changes. You are no longer defined by your sin but by your relationship with Christ. Third, your purpose changes. Now, you have a new mission in life- to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. As a result of these changes, your relationship with others and yourself is transformed.
In Christ Jesus, your relationship with God changes from one of separation to one of the union. In Christ, you are no longer cut off from God because of your sin. Instead, you are brought near Him through Christ’s blood that was shed on the cross for you. This new relationship with God involves intimacy and love instead of fear and judgment. Through Christ, you can now confidently approach God’s throne to receive mercy, knowing that you are His beloved child.
Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
When you become a believer in Christ Jesus, your identity changes; you are no longer defined by your past, mistakes, or sin. You are now a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Your old self has been crucified with Christ, and you have been given a new life (Galatians 2:20). As a result, you are now defined by Christ. He is your Lord and Savior, and you are His follower (1 John 2:3-6). This change in identity can be seen in how you live your life. You will start making choices based on what is pleasing to God instead of pleasurable to yourself. Your priorities will shift from things of this world to things of eternity. This change is not easy, but it is worth it because it brings true freedom and joy (John 8:36).
Christ Jesus provides us with a new mission and a reason to live. Through Him, we are given a fresh start and the opportunity to fulfill our God-given purpose. Christ came to Earth for a good reason: to save us from our sins. He did this by dying on the cross, taking our punishment upon Himself. In doing so, He showed us the ultimate act of love. Because of what Christ did for us, our relationship with God is transformed; we become new people, and He gives us a new life. This new life is one of hope and purpose that empowers us to live in abundance because all things are possible through Him. Romans 11:36 says, “For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.”
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you for your mercy and grace in my life. Amen.
