Building Your Faith in the Unseen! Part Two
“By faith, we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.” Hebrews 11:3
We all know that one of our sayings is, “Don’t be limited by what you see.” Just because someone might be having a bad day doesn’t mean that they can’t have a good tomorrow. This is because we all have our paths in life, and it’s not up to anyone else to determine what that is. This is also stated in the Bible, specifically in 2 Corinthians 4:18, which says, “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
This is a powerful verse because it teaches us that we should focus not on the temporary things in life but on the eternal ones. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the little things that happen each day, but if we focus on the bigger picture, we can see that there is so much more to life than what we see at the moment. It’s also important to remember that just because someone might not be having a good day, it doesn’t mean that they are bad or that they are a mess.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 says, “For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. The things seen are transient, but the unseen things are eternal.”
We all have our down moments, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get back up and try again. Therefore, to succeed in life, it is important not to be limited by what you see. This is because you can achieve anything you want if you refuse to be limited by your current circumstances. For example, if you are currently unemployed, having some financial issues, or facing some marital problems, don’t let that cloud your mind from seeing the better tomorrow or stop you from pursuing your dreams. Remember, Abraham Lincoln was once a poor, unsuccessful lawyer, and Nelson Mandela was once imprisoned for his political beliefs, yet they came out to lead the nation.
Remember that the Bible teaches that anything is possible if you believe. For example, Hebrews 11:7 says, “By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household.” This verse teaches that Noah was able to save his family from the flood because he believed that God could do what He said He would do. As a result, Noah was not limited by what he could see, and he was able to achieve great things. You too can, and you will in Jesus’ name. Amen. 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Prayer:
1. Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness and steadfast love.
2. Holy Spirit, grant me an increase in my faith in you by the power of the word of God in Jesus’ name. Amen.
