“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5
“Expect a miracle every day; God is the healer still.” — Kathryn Kuhlman. In every corner of our lives, amidst our busyness, we are invited to anticipate the miraculous touch of our Lord. Just as the woman with the issue of blood reached out in faith and grasped the hem of Jesus’ garment, we, too, can extend our hands to His presence.
The promise found in Isaiah 53:5 assures us that “by His stripes, we are healed.” In other words, His wounds are not just reminders of His suffering; they are a pathway to our restoration. Each stripe is a testament to the love that seeks to mend every broken place within us. Remember, Jesus bore our sins in His own body on the tree. Through His sacrifice, we receive healing not just in our physical bodies, but also in our emotions and spirits.
Matthew 8:16-17 says, “When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.”
When we look at Jesus’ ministry in Matthew 8:16-17, we see a portrait of compassion and mercy. He healed the sick and cast out demons, illustrating that He cares deeply for our wholeness. Every act of healing He performed was laced with love and an invitation to experience God’s goodness. Today, let us remember that “Christ’s wounds are our medicine” and so approach Him with hearts wide open, ready to receive the gifts He longs to bestow upon us.
Brethren, you can also take Practical steps today to intercede on behalf of the sick and create a ripple effect of love and compassion in the community. We are called to pray with faith, knowing that the healing power of Jesus flows today as it did during His time on earth. Let us encourage one another with messages of hope, reiterating the belief that healing is indeed within our grasp. Amen. 1 Peter 2:24 says, “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” Amen.
