“I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus”. Philippians 1:6
It’s often easy to get caught up in the day-to-day hustle and forget to stop and reflect on how far we’ve come. As Paul reminds us in Philippians 3:13-14, Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, we are encouraged to press on toward the prize of spiritual growth in Christ. Taking a moment now can rejuvenate our spirits and help us recognize God’s hand in our lives. Celebrate these victories, no matter how big or small, for each one propels you closer to fulfilling your calling.
Achievements can be milestones that signify personal growth and transformation. Just like the mustard seed that grows into a towering tree (Matthew 13:31-32), our faith journey starts small but is potent with potential for significant change. Reflecting upon them lets us appreciate the subtle yet monumental work God does within us. Be reminded of Galatians 6:9 – Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Remember that each step forward is another layer added to your steadfast foundation in Christ.
Psalm 100:3 says, “Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.”
C.S. Lewis once noted, Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back everything is different? Examine this past year with a heart of gratitude for all areas you’ve seen improvements – spiritually, professionally, relationally, or otherwise. Like the potter shaping clay (Isaiah 64:8), God continues refining who we are meant to be through trials and triumphs alike. Consider making a list of these changes as tangible reminders of His faithfulness throughout every season.
Our achievements not only impact our own lives but serve as inspirations for others around us too. Like the parable of talents where servants multiplied their gifts (Matthew 25:14-30), so must we strive to develop ours for His glory. Encourage fellow believers by sharing stories of success linked with divine assistance and guidance—the spark igniting potential spiritual awakening within their hearts. Psalm 107:15-16 says, Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! For he shatters the doors of bronze and cuts in two the bars of iron.
Prayer for the day!
Heavenly Father, thank You for guiding us throughout this year and helping us grow closer to You. May Your Spirit continue empowering us as we strive toward further spiritual development. Grant wisdom so our future aspirations magnify Your glory more than ever before. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
