Channeling Your Zeal!
“I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.” Romans 6:19
The father has deposited a lot of investments in you and me for His glory. He has made us in His image so that we can be co-creators like him. He is a loving and caring father; He loves to make us better than we are today. But when the devil was cast down to the earth, the plan seems thwarted because of the devil deceitfulness that always led to the fall of humankind. Since then, humanity has been subjected to the slavery of the devil.’
However, the grace of redemption came, and humankind was restored to the position of dominion and authority. Hence, the bible texts admonish us that when one realizes his or her deliverance from the bondage of the law, one is free from sin. The Lord God gave humankind the right to be free from sin. This freedom comes in forms of a new covenant between God and us.
Our salvation is not dependent on the law, but rather it depends upon God’s love for humanity. But we have to be willing and motivated to present our lives as a living sacrifice to God. In other words, you and I need to channel the same zeal by which we live in rebellion against God to living for the glory of God.
We must also be willing to give up our worldly desires for the sake of living a godly life. Remember, the result is what matters in the race. The end of humankind living for the glory of the Lord is freedom, and freedom to holiness and holiness is the key to eternal life. Romans 6:22 says, “But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the outcome is eternal life.”
1. Dear Father, turn my life around to make me useful to you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2. Mark 6:7; By the Blood of Jesus, I break and destroy every evil covenant binding me with uncleanness and wrongness in Jesus’ name. Amen.
